It’s been ages since my last post! Almost two months! -_-v
But now that I have the time and the will to write again, let me start for another entry.
For this post, I like you guys to compare and contrast the following videos in the context of communication evolution:
Number 1:
And Number 2:
What can you say?
Video number 1 is an audio-visual presentation made for our OrCom 143 class, (I was in 3rd year that time.) and the other one is a video blog created and conceptualized last July, 2009. Both are uploaded in YouTube. But don’t dwell on the dates on when they are made. Look at the two videos with the concept of communication evolution in mind.
Here are some challenging questions that might be helpful to you in comparing and contrasting the two videos:
- In which video do you appreciate more the evolution of communication?
- What made the first video better than the other, and vice versa?
- Are the two videos comparable? Or are they contrasting?
This entry seeks opinion and participation from you. You don’t necessarily have to answer the questions above since it’s not a game show with a million peso prize. But whoever leave a comment with the best content will get a hundred peso bill or a hundred peso load as a reward! No kidding! :)
(I know it’s cheap, but it’s for real! Hahaha) The person with the best comment will be posted on the end of September.
But it’s not the prize that really matters, right? It is the squeezing of juices from our minds. It is how you make brilliant ideas out of this.
Still, May the best commentator win!
)

ello sis. i am here now in hong kong. missing the dorm. my new roommates here are americans. nice new post you have here. all the best
Oh sis! I know you can do so much better than this. Anyway, you take care there.
hahaha. sali ako!
eto. I like the second video (better than the first). Di ko kasi masyadong gets yung una. Nadudugo utak ko. I’m not so familiar with the models (di kasi sila looks family!! wakoko) Pero yung second video, ok sya! Madali intindihin at makikita mo agad yung transitions. tama ba?
ipanalo mo ko te ha! isusumbong kita kay mama sige ka!
Walang palakasan system dito! Walang kapatid-kapatid, Walang kai-kaibigan! hahaha
Is that really you my dear brother? You are starting to have sense huh! Just kidding!
Good to see your comment and to know that you exerted effort and time with this.
Whoa! thanks Csammy dear! well, i get your point. Good thing you’ll be able to see some differences. will keep you posted. thanks much!
I like the 2nd video more than the first because:
1. nosebleed ang unang video. I know that communication evolves like other things but the models are not easy to understand.
2. cool yung pangalawa. I saw the evolution. Madali makita yung pinagkaiba nung unang tool dun sa susunod na tool.
Make me win, I need load! hahaha
Though I’m familiar with all the models and figures shown in the first video, I prefer the second video because it showed the evolution of communication in a manner that is very understandable to more people. In the first video, it illustrated communication as analogous to physical objects: cars, humans, etc.; while in the second one, it simply showed how ways of communication have evolved, not using analogy or comparison.
However, the mechanism and dynamics of the evolution of communication is not comparable to that of those mentioned physical objects earlier. It is rather more complex since it does evolve not only because of only few factors. Its evolution is catalyzed by factors like the technology available, culture changes, media, etc.
Napadaan lang ako, Marie. haha. Long week-end na naman.
More make-up classes to come.
Thanks for the comment Charles! Seems that you gave so much effort for your comment. I’ll update you on what will happen.
siyempre i like the second one better
BIAS MUCH? hahaha!
Jess, I know why! Haha
hahaha! grabe marie! why don’t you just send me that 100 load?? but i think your contest feel here’s nice
and, oh, I like the second video better
More comment, more chances of winning! haha
Where’s the effort Jhe?
The second video’s nice!!
And please upload another nice video! Haha!
Done, Alps!! very nice video indeed!
hi couz…
Both videos are nice and surely gave ideas on how communication evolved. I like the idea of showing comparison and analogy on how communication evolved from how people and those other things evolved on the first video. But by merely doing so, ideas pointing out towards communication became very limited on its dynamics and components per se as what the models only tried to imply. Furthermore, more frames of the video were given to evolution of other things making the video only more understandable through the phrases that flashes in between. This point made the second video much better. In the second video even by just simply watching the transition of each frames you can easily come up with an idea that the video was an affirmation of the context that communication evolves in a very dynamic way. It shows exactly how communication came along with other changes in life but through a very different transition and manner and showing how it was affected by so many different factors. Those factors like media and advancement in technology were not shown by the figures used in the models in the first video.
I do agree that communication is very sophisticated and its sophistication is better defined by the second one.
…….nice work marie more good entries from you…gudluk to your very creative work…
Hi dear cousin! You are always as supportive as ever! Thanks for the comment. And thanks much for the effort of reading my entry and viewing the videos. I’ll keep you posted.

Hi John! It’s a challenge for the readers of my blog. Please do join the “contest”
Siyempre, I’m going for the second vid “>
Simple reason: it’s simple.
Add to the equation the story-telling method, the 2nd vid captivates the natural story-craver in human.
